Vitamin C To Induce Period
How To Get Your Period To Just Show Up Already!!!
Disclaimer: We're not doctors, so before trying this suggestion for yourself, make sure to check with your healthcare professional first.
High stress, change in diet, lots of travel… really anything that can throw off your "usual" can affect your period. For some women, extreme changes in their lifestyle have actually resulted in them missing whole months or two! It can be a really worrysome experience which often times results in more stress… not helpful.
If you are someone in this same situation, and you've checked to make sure you're NOT pregnant or have any other underlying health issues, here's something my doctor told me about and it has worked for me every time.
VITAMIN C: 1000 MG
I travel a lot for work and my job is generally stressful so its not uncommon for me to have fluctuating periods, a day here and there. There have been times in the past where I've been so stressful I was weeks late! So I was told to go to the pharmacy and get a good 1000 MG dose of Vitamin C. I chose Nature Made because the reviews on the products quality are pretty good.
Honest to God, by taking one of these pills each morning when I'm late, it does the job within 3 days. What I actually do now is when I approach my start date, I start taking a Vitamin C pill once a day so that it shows up on time… works great.
WHY DOES THIS WORK?
According to the folks at Healthline, "It's thought that vitamin C can elevate your estrogen levels and lower progesterone levels. This, in turn, causes the uterus to contract and the lining of the uterus to break down, leading to the onset of menstruation."
As with any supplement or medicine, too much is not good for you. Watch your dosage here: General consensus is not to go over 2,000 MG per day of Vitamin C as its bad for your kidneys. Again, ask your doctor if you have questions on this.
Overall, from personal experience, this is my tride and true remedy for late periods and/or the answer to keeping my cycle predictable during stressful times of the year. While I work on mentally and physically coping with stress better, I'm glad I've found something that works for me and I hope that it will help you too.
